PC language — the dangers of hyper-hyphenating
PC language, to me, is an excellent example of too much of a good thing. After all, it’s a wonderful thing to try to avoid hurting people with your words. And there are some words that can be awfully hurtful. However, taking it too far makes it downright impossible to communicate at all! I know it’s cool to get down on PC language, but let’s face it, there are worse things in the world than trying to be too considerate.
Some good PC language
…Portland Convention, that is. As in I’ll be there this weekend, and if you’re in the area, I’d love to see you there!
I’ll be in Artists’ Alley, at Table A3 — down at the end of the A row. I’ll have copies of the Evil Inc graphic novels, as well as favorites like The Webcomics Handbook and Phables. I’ll open up a commission list, and host a few panels. I’m not planning to being a lot of original art, so if you want something specific, please let me know so I can bring it for you. It’ll be the standard blast-and-a-half. I hope to see you there.
Some not-so PC language
One of the things I’ll be talking about in Portland is the NSFW comics I’m offering on my Patreon feed. It’s definitely not PC — in its language or otherwise — but it’s darned good fun nonetheless. And I’ve had lots of promotion in this space, talking about what the $10/month pledge gets for you.
But I want to talk for a minute to my readers who aren’t interested in reading adult-themed comics. If you like this comic, and if you’d like to support the continuation of Evil Inc, I’d encourage you to become a backer at the $1 or $5 level. You get all sorts of rewards — like early access to Evil Inc comics, an archive of Evil Inc in its full-page format, bonus cartoons, wallpapers and more. But more importantly, you’ll be helping me continue doing this comic. Ad blockers have prevented me from earning money doing the comic the way I used to for 15 years. Your $1/month pledge goes a long way to keep me able to produce a professional-level comic to share with you.
For example, this is one of the bonus comics my $1- and $5- patrons received recently.
