Swelling tides of blue goo is just the beginning of the trouble the Evil Inc branch office is headed for. But as long as we’re talking about swelling…

The swelling ranks of Patreon

Our little group swelled past another major milestone over at Patreon last week — $4,700! As you can see on my Patreon page, that’s more than $4000 after fees and declined pledges (yeah… it happens). And April is shaping up to be a gangbuster month, with some really great episodes of Evil Inc After Dark and some smokin’-hot NSFW commissions (thumbnailed for you above). If you’ve been thinking about trying it out, you couldn’t have picked a better month. You can also get special pricing on commissions — SFW and NSFW — until Friday.

Bam Smack Pow! — A swell interview

In case you missed it, comics website Bam Smack Pow did a very kind interview with me, highlighting my career in comics as well as some of my most recent projects. From the introduction:

It is safe to say that Brad Guigar has forgotten more about webcomics than most people are ever going to know.

The Philadelphia-based cartoonist is considered a pioneer of webcomics, a mainstay of the medium for over a decade. He has helped write two books about them, gives lectures and has offered a boot camp about creating them.

The business of webcomics has seen massive changes in the last few years, with the advent of Kickstarter and Patreon, so of course Brad Guigar has been right at the forefront. He recently completely revamped and rebooted his comic Evil Inc. and has cultivated a large following for his NSFW strip Evil Inc. After Dark.

Kickstarter — All’s well that ends swell

EIv9_cover_proofWe’re in the final week of the Kickstarter for the ninth Evil Inc graphic novel. This will be your last chance to get not only the book, but earlier Evil Inc graphic novels, Artist Editions, original art, and an exclusive NSFW eComic add-on! Get yours while there’s still time.

Swelling with pride — Emerald City Comic Con

Although I was sad to have to sit out this year’s ECCC for the first time in about ten years, I was super-thrilled to see Jonnalyhn Wolfcact Prill cosplaying as classic Desdemona. She was, of course, dazzling. Photo courtesy of the amazing Randy Milholland, who kindly tweeted it over the weekend.

And here she is with the incomparable Dave Kellett

You may remember her appearing last year, along with her husband, as Miss Match and Captain Heroic (respectively).

Feeling a little swell-headed…

When a page comes together like this one did — comprised of both of last weeks’ updates — I’m confident I made the right decision to re-think Evil Inc. (Click the image below to see it in its full-sized glory.) Patreon backers at the $5 level and higher have access to all of the full-page versions of the new Evil Inc comics. I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to do with my storytelling since leaving the comic-strip format behind. I’m beyond excited to compile these into a graphic novel.
