Freelance Art / Design

I am also taking a limited number of frelance illustration assignments. Best of all, I spent over twenty years in newspaper graphics departments hitting nightly deadlines. If you're interested in my rates and turnaround time, please contact me so we can begin discussing your project.

No caricatures, please.

Consulting / Public Speaking

As an professional independent cartoonist since 2000, I can speak to a wide range of topics -- from generating creative ideas to business issues that effect independent artists working on the Web.

I have written one book on general cartooning, "The Everything Cartooning Book" and I co-wrote the "How to Make Webcomics" book (now in its fourth printing). I've updated my daily Web site of tips, tutorials and advice for cartoonists, Webcomics.com, since 2009.

More importantly, I can handle a microphone well. My discussions are lively, entertaining and informative -- as any of my appearances on the podcast I co-hosted, Webcomics Weekly, can prove.

Heck, I've even done stand-up comedy.

For even more information, check out Guigar.com or feel free to contact me to discuss consultation and/or public speaking.

Process

During the checkout process, you will be able to enter your request under "Note to Brad."

You may make your request in that field, and I will be in touch to confirm and clarify the concept.

If you read Evil Inc and Courting Disaster, you have a good idea of my boundaries. Cheesecake-y pin-ups are acceptable, but no porn / extreme violence, please.

I will e-mail one sketch for approval, and then proceed to final art.

You will receive a sample scan of the final art before it is mailed to you. Once you approve it, I will mail your order to you (plus two extras).

No risk: If you are unhappy at any time before the item is shipped, say so, and I will glady refund your money. Paypal also protects your satisfaction during the transaction.

You get it all: Upon shipment of your original signed art, you will also receive two full-size scans of your commission -- hi-resolution (suitable for printing) and low-resolution (suitable for the Web). You may do with these as you wish.

Final Art

All commissioned illustrations are 8 x 10 inches, black archival ink on acid-free illustration board.
