Cartoon Archives: John Sununu

In another installment of my ongoing series that looks into cartoons from my archive, here’s an editorial cartoon I created for The Repository (Canton, Ohio) in 1991. George H.W. Bush’s Chief of Staff, John Sununu was stepping down amidst allegations of abuse of both power and position — including a few dodgy trip using Air Force executive jets. If I remember the mood back then, the general feeling was that he was in a massive power grab, trying to be the president behind Bush’s back.

When he announced his resignation, I imagined how he might leave.
