Chapter 15 | Meanwhile, 3

Bonus reward

My Patreon backers are getting a bonus reward this month! It's a special 9-page eComic from my friends at Lady Valiant.

Once you've finished that. you're going to want more — and boy, does the Lady Valiant team deliver on that one! The Lady Valiant Patreon is on fire! Truly some jaw-droppingly good comics!

You'll love the art and the focus on voluptuous heroines. The writing is brisk, entertaining, and funny. This is a perfect addition to an Evil Inc fan's reading list!

Let’s pause quickly to see what’s happening elsewhere in the Evil Inc universe.

Transcript

Miss Match walks through her class for supervillains as they prepare to take a quiz. On the whiteboard behind them, the words: “Covert surveillance and information gathering. Quiz today.” A speedster rushes through in a blur, trying to peek at others’ papers. A scientist releases a flying drone eyeball, while next to her, a gelatinous creature with several eyeballs deploys one to sneak a look at the student's paper in front of it. Yet another student dons an invisibility cloak, an elastic student cranes her neck, and the student next to her winks at his clone, who is snooping from the other side of a window. A green student prepares to use her mental powers.

Miss Match: “If I catch you looking at someone else’s answers, you’ll get an ‘F.’”

“…so don’t let me catch you.”

National Cartoonists Society annual conference and Reuben Awards

I was in sunny San Diego this past week for the National Cartoonists Society's annual conference and the Reuben Awards ceremony.

Evil Inc was nominated for a Silver Reuben in the Best Online Longform Comic category for the second year in a row. When I ran across Jason Chatfield — nominated in the same category — things got a little tense (as you can see). In the end, Evan Dahm won for his wonderful comic. The Third Voice.

One of the week's major highlights was hosting two live ComicLab stage shows at the Comic-Con Museum! Dave Kellett and I welcomed Maria Scrivan, Hector Cantu, and Dana Simpson in the first show. In the second show, we featured Danesh Mohiuddin, Hilary Price, and Tauhid Bondia. We'll post recordings of both events on the ComicLab podcast (Spotify | Apple Podcasts) very soon!

Most importantly, I got the chance to chat with some truly exceptional cartoonists! Here are a couple of photos. I'm hoping to assemble more in the days to come!
