Yah sure you betcha, dose svedish guys are funny, yah! (I can say that cuz I am swedish-american.) Carol Burnett was great on the Colbert Report last night.
No, when Lightning Lady took over her new job, that Friday she found all of her subordinates standing around, and they told her that they’d been re-directing their calls to Evil Atom’s PA on Fridays…but his new PA was smart enough to re-redirect them. Then Lightning Lady’s phone started ringing…
…and that’s why we still have Lightning Lady “How may I harm you” strips sometimes.
Thanks, Brad. I had to Google it and then spent an hour watching Carol Burnett clips. I’d forgotten Mr. Tudball, but I would sure welcome a visit from Tim Conway’s greatest character from the period, the Little Old Man.

Treat your self to some classic comedy, and get your hands on a dvd collection of the Carol Burnett Show. The two characters in the last panel are recurring characters in skits from the Carol Burnett variety show, and Tim Conway is a comedic gem.
HA! I loved the Carol Burnett Show! That’s a great reference to draw from!
I knew I was risking a tremendous number of “I don’t get it” comments, but it’s so worth it for the ones that do. ๐
As apparently the only one who didn’t get it… would you explain it to me? ^^; *embarrassed*
it took me a second to realize what it was, but I love the reference.
Yay, Tim Conway and Carol Burnett! I loved those skits.
Probably a good thing the coffee’s still brewing, or I would have spit it out on my monitor from laughing!
Nice Carol Burnett reference!
Hm, I remember her predecessor being dropped through a trapdoor by Evil Atom because she mixed up his wife and his mistress.O_o
…and now you know what happened to poor Mrs. Swiggins…
Nice GAH reference ๐
Thanks for the nod to us old people. I didn’t think you were old enough to know that show.
Hahahahaha! The Mr. Tudball caricature is spot-on! Too Funny!

Late in the day I read it again…did anyone else notice “predessecor?”
Hee, yes, the predecessor thing stuck out to me as well. But then, I’m an editor, so that might be the reason! (I doubt most people would care.)
Love it!
Too young to get the reference.
I wonder if LL left Desi all the technical support calls she had to attend as a parting gift…

Thank you so much for making me discover that show!
When you get a chance, search for “Carol Burnett Mama’s Family” on YouTube. They were my favorite sketches!
The best were the clips that never got shown, like the time Vickie Lawrence got Tim Conway, for a change…

Listen to the elephant story by Tim Conway the ending quote by mama is priceless
How did her predecessor leave her any advice when she was dropped down a trap door just before Lightning Lady was hired?
