Evil Inc colorist Alex Heberling has launched the Kickstarter campaign for the third collection of her comic, The Hues, and I couldn't be more excited! If you love the life that she brings to my linework in Evil Inc, Evil Inc After Dark, Courting Disaster and countless other projects, you will marvel at her writing-and-drawing chops exhibited in her own comic.
The Hues is about rainbow-themed magical girls who punch aliens! There are over 350 pages you can read online! In 2015 and 2016, she successfully Kickstarted Volume 1and 2, and now it’s time for book three!
The Hues Volume 3: EMBER
This will be a beautiful, full-color volume totaling about 150 pages of magical-girl goodness. The cover will be a matte finish with spot gloss-- and features Hannah, our shy fire-wielder!
Collecting chapters 7 through 11 of the webcomic, TH Volume 3 follows Lauren's encounter with two new magical girls-- Salime and Audrey-- and her attempt to reunite with Sami, Andy, and Hannah back at the house.
The Hues is the story of Sami, a 17-year-old who has seen visions of a peculiar hexagram in her dreams her entire life. A strange apparition of the hexagram appears in the sky over Columbus, counting down to the arrival of an alien invasion that devastates the city.
It's up to her and her fellow teammates to find each other, master their magical powers, and protect the city's survivors from the terrifying visitors. The cast features a wide variety of race, body type, sexuality, and personality that I think you'll enjoy!
